רֵאשִׁ֨ית דְּגָֽנְךָ֜ תִּֽירֹשְׁךָ֣ וְיִצְהָרֶ֗ךָ וְרֵאשִׁ֛ית גֵּ֥ז צֹאנְךָ֖ תִּתֶּן־לּֽוֹ׃

The first of your grain, your wine, and your oil, and the first of the fleece of your flock, you shall give to him.

Torah Temimah points to Chullin 135a.

TT lemma: וְרֵאשִׁית גֵּז צֹאנְךָ.

Core Text

וְרֵאשִׁית גֵּז צֹאנְךָ תִּתֵּן לוֹ – זוֹ רֵאשִׁית הַגֵּז.

English: ‘And the first of the fleece of your flock you shall give to him’ – this is the first of the shearing.

On the daf / in context: A distinct mitzvah of the first fleece.

Derash identifying the fleece gift (Bavli) — the verse creates the separate obligation of reshit ha-gez.

The first shearing of the flock is given to the kohen as a distinct gift.
