And this shall be the due of the kohanim from the people, from those who slaughter the sacrifice, whether ox or sheep: he shall give the kohen the foreleg, the jaws, and the maw.
Torah Temimah points to Sifrei Devarim 165.
TT lemma: אִם שׁוֹר אִם שֶׂה.
English: ‘Whether ox or sheep’ – excluding undomesticated animals (chayah).
Derash excluding wild species (Sifrei) — the examples limit the law to domesticated cattle and flocks.
The three gifts are required only from domesticated oxen and sheep, not from wild animals.
