שָׁמוֹר֙ אֶת־חֹ֣דֶשׁ הָאָבִ֔יב וְעָשִׂ֣יתָ פֶּ֔סַח לַיהֹוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֶ֑יךָ כִּ֞י בְּחֹ֣דֶשׁ הָֽאָבִ֗יב הוֹצִ֨יאֲךָ֜ יְהֹוָ֧ה אֱלֹהֶ֛יךָ מִמִּצְרַ֖יִם לָֽיְלָה׃
Observe the month of Aviv and offer the Pesach to Hashem your God, for in the month of Aviv Hashem your God brought you out of Egypt by night.

שָׁמוֹר וגו׳ – שְׁמוֹר אֶת חֹדֶשׁ הָאָבִיב – שְׁמוֹר אֶת הַחֹדֶשׁ הַסָּמוּךְ לְאָבִיב מִפְּנֵי אָבִיב שֶׁיִּהְיֶה בִּזְמַנּוֹ.
English: "Observe..." — "Observe the month of Aviv"—observe the month adjacent to the spring so that the spring arrives in its proper time.
