כִּֽי־פָתֹ֧חַ תִּפְתַּ֛ח אֶת־יָדְךָ֖ ל֑וֹ וְהַעֲבֵט֙ תַּעֲבִיטֶ֔נּוּ דֵּ֚י מַחְסֹר֔וֹ אֲשֶׁ֥ר יֶחְסַ֖ר לֽוֹ׃

But you shall surely open your hand to him, and you shall surely lend him sufficient for his need that he lacks.

אֲשֶׁר יֶחְסַר לוֹ – וַאֲפִלּוּ סוּס לִרְכֹּב עָלָיו וְעֶבֶד לָרוּץ לְפָנָיו.

English: "That he lacks" — even a horse to ride upon and a servant to run before him.

On the daf / in context: If the recipient was previously accustomed to a higher standard of living, charity must restore that standard, not merely provide bare necessities.
