Core Text of Chazal

Core Text — Yerushalmi Kesuvos

English: This teaches that even at a time when the Yovel is in force and the [sold] inheritances return — still, an inheritance of the Torah does not return.

Type of Learning

Distinction between sold land that reverts at Yovel and Torah-mandated inheritance that does not.

What Is Learned

Tribal inheritance fixed by the Torah stays with the heirs; it is not subject to the Yovel return that applies to sold holdings.
