וַתַּעֲמֹדְנָה לִפְנֵי מֹשֶׁה וְלִפְנֵי אֶלְעָזָר הַכֹּהֵן וְלִפְנֵי הַנְּשִׂיאִם וְכָל־הָעֵדָה פֶּתַח אֹהֶל־מוֹעֵד לֵאמֹר׃
And they stood before Moshe and before Elazar the Kohen and before the princes and all the congregation, at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting, saying:

אַבָּא חָנָן אוֹמֵר מִשּׁוּם רַבִּי אֶלְעָזָר, בְּבֵית הַמִּדְרָשׁ הָיוּ יוֹשְׁבִין וְהָלְכוּ וְעָמְדוּ לִפְנֵי כֻּלָּם.
English: Abba Chanan says in the name of R. Elazar: they were sitting in the beis midrash, and [the daughters] went and stood before all of them.
