Core Text of Chazal

Core Text

English: By strict logic a person could taint his tevel by Torah law, for it is written “the charge of My terumos” — terumah needs guarding and tevel does not.

Type of Learning

Shimmur applies to terumah, not raw tevel.

What Is Learned

The duty of guarding attaches once it is terumah; the obligation to give Aharon something fit still restrains needless tumah of tevel.
