Core Text

English: Might I include also a firstborn, tithe, pesach, chatas, and asham? The verse says “to fulfill a vow or as a freewill offering” — that which comes as a vow or freewill requires nesachim; that which does not come as a vow or freewill does not require nesachim.

Type of Learning

Exclusion of fixed obligation offerings.

What Is Learned

Firstborn, tithe, and pesach are out of the nesachim rule because they are not vow/freewill.
