Chabad.org — English translation + Rashi
Torah Temimah citing the midrashic reading recorded on this passuk (pointer only — not TT’s gloss). Parallel derashos identify “Kushis” as a praise of Tzipporah’s exceptional deeds.
English: “The Kushite woman.” Was her name Kushite? Was it not Tzipporah? Rather: just as a Kushite is distinctive in appearance, so Tzipporah was distinctive in her deeds.
Praise through paradox — the unusual term marks exceptional righteousness, not ethnicity as insult.
Chazal read the complaint’s language against itself: what sounded like a slight is turned into a testimony of Tzipporah’s uniqueness.
