English: “And they shall send from the camp” — it was taught: R’ Yosei says: It is not a person’s place that honors him, but the person who honors his place.
In context: The midrash uses the expulsion of the impure from the camp to teach that dignity attaches to the person who respects the sanctity of the place.
Custom
Chazal teach that a person confers honor on a place by treating it with reverence, not the reverse.
