Source Citation

Torath Kohanim / Sifra — full valuation when consecrated at the start of the cycle; seed-based rate (homer of barley = 50 shekels), not market quality alone.

Sefaria

Chazal

English: “If from the year of the Jubilee he consecrates his field, it shall stand at your valuation” — if he consecrates right after the Jubilee and redeems at once, the full valuation stands; field valuation is by seed (a homer of barley = fifty shekels), a scriptural decree.

Type of Learning

Halachic calendar linkage — Jubilee and seed-measure.

What Is Learned

Inherited land is valued by a Torah formula tied to the Jubilee cycle, not by fluctuating land markets. Timing of consecration relative to Yovel changes the sum.
