Chazal

English: “And if she is a female, your valuation shall be thirty shekels” — a fixed Torah valuation, not market price; the female from age twenty to sixty is assessed at thirty.

Halachic scale — erech vs. damim.

What Is Learned

The Torah’s valuation system is not an appraisal of labor value. It assigns a sacred fixed sum by age and sex, independent of the marketplace.
