Source Citation

Torah Temimah: “neder be’erkekha” compares hekdesh to erechin — siddur for the poor, and vital limb = whole.

Core Text

English: Hekdesh is compared to erechin: leave the poor subsistence; a vital limb is valued as the whole person.

Type of Learning

Hekesh derasha (erechin ↔ hekdesh).

What Is Learned

Collection-arrangement and vital-limb rules transfer from erechin to ordinary dedications of value.
