דַּבֵּ֞ר אֶל־בְּנֵ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ וְאָמַרְתָּ֣ אֲלֵהֶ֔ם אִ֕ישׁ כִּ֥י יַפְלִ֖א נֶ֑דֶר בְּעֶרְכְּךָ֥ נְפָשֹׁ֖ת לַֽיהֹוָֽה׃

Torah Temimah cites Arachin 5b: “nefashot” includes women as evaluators and as valued.

Core Text

“אִישׁ” — אֵין לִי אֶלָּא אִישׁ; אִשָּׁה מִנַּיִן? תַּלְמוּד לוֹמַר “בְּעֶרְכְּךָ נְפָשׁוֹת.”

English: “A man” — I have only a man; from where a woman? Scripture says “your valuation of persons (nefashot).”

Inclusion derasha via nefashot.

Both men and women may vow valuations and may be the object of valuations.
