כִּֽי־עֲבָדַ֣י הֵ֔ם אֲשֶׁר־הוֹצֵ֥אתִי אֹתָ֖ם מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם לֹ֥א יִמָּכְר֖וּ מִמְכֶּ֥רֶת עָֽבֶד׃

כִּי עֲבָדַי הֵם. עֲבָדַי הֵם — וְלֹא עֲבָדִים לַעֲבָדִים.

English: “For they are My servants.” They are My servants — and not servants to servants.

Because Israel are servants of God, they may not be sold in the permanent manner of Canaanite slaves; their ultimate service belongs to God alone.
