וּזְרַעְתֶּ֗ם אֵ֚ת הַשָּׁנָ֣ה הַשְּׁמִינִ֔ת וַאֲכַלְתֶּ֖ם מִן־הַתְּבוּאָ֣ה יָשָׁ֑ן עַד֩ הַשָּׁנָ֨ה הַתְּשִׁיעִ֜ת עַד־בּ֣וֹא תְּבוּאָתָ֗הּ תֹּאכְל֖וּ יָשָֽׁן׃

תֹּאכְלוּ יָשָׁן. מְלַמֵּד שֶׁהַיָּשָׁן מִשְׁתַּמֵּר מִן הֶחָדָשׁ.
English: “You shall eat the old.” This teaches that the old [produce] is preserved from the new.
