English: “It shall be holy for you.” And “it shall be holy to Hashem” is not written; therefore one who betroths with Shevi’is produce — she is betrothed.
Classical derasha (Bavli Kiddushin).
Because the verse says “holy to you” and not “holy to Hashem,” one who betroths a woman with Shemittah produce effects a valid kiddushin.
