וּמַכֵּה אָדָם וּמַכֵּה בְּהֵמָה – מַה מַּכֵּה בְּהֵמָה עַד דְּעָבֵיד בַּהּ חַבּוּרָה (נֶפֶשׁ = דָּם), אַף מַכֵּה אָדָם עַד דְּעָבֵיד בֵּיהּ חַבּוּרָה. (סַנְהֶדְרִין פ״ד ב׳)
