«סֹלֶת תִּהְיֶינָה חָמֵץ תֵּאָפֶינָה» – שְׂאוֹר בּוֹדֶה לָהֶן מִתּוֹכָן וּמְחַמְּצָן, דִּבְרֵי רַבִּי מֵאִיר. רַבִּי יְהוּדָה אוֹמֵר אַף הִיא אֵינָהּ מִן הַמֻּבְחָר אֶלָּא מֵבִיא אֶת הַשְּׂאוֹר וְנוֹתְנוֹ לְתוֹךְ הַמִּדָּה וּמְמַלֵּא. «בִּכּוּרִים לַה׳» – רַבִּי שִׁמְעוֹן אוֹמֵר נֶאֱמַר כָּאן בִּכּוּרִים וְנֶאֱמַר לְהַלָּן בִּכּוּרִים – מַה כָּאן שֶׁל צִבּוּר אַף לְהַלָּן שֶׁל צִבּוּר.
