שׁ֣וֹר אוֹ־כֶ֤שֶׂב אוֹ־עֵז֙ כִּ֣י יִוָּלֵ֔ד וְהָיָ֛ה שִׁבְעַ֥ת יָמִ֖ים תַּ֣חַת אִמּ֑וֹ וּמִיּ֤וֹם הַשְּׁמִינִי֙ וָהָ֔לְאָה יֵרָצֶ֕ה לְקׇרְבַּ֥ן אִשֶּׁ֖ה לַיהֹוָֽה׃

וְהָיָה שִׁבְעַת יָמִים. רַבִּי אַפְטוּרִיקִי רָמֵי – כְּתִיב וְהָיָה שִׁבְעַת יָמִים תַּחַת אִמּוֹ, הָא לֵיל שְׁמִינִי חֲזֵי, וּכְתִיב וּמִיּוֹם הַשְּׁמִינִי וָהָלְאָה יֵרָצֶה, הָא לֵיל שְׁמִינִי לֹא חֲזֵי, הָא כֵּיצַד, לַיְלָה לִקְדֻשָּׁה וְיוֹם לְהַרְצָאָה. (זְבָחִים י״ב א׳)
