וְאִ֨ישׁ אִ֜ישׁ מִבְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל וּמִן־הַגֵּר֙ הַגָּ֣ר בְּתוֹכָ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֨ר יָצ֜וּד צֵ֥יד חַיָּ֛ה אוֹ־ע֖וֹף אֲשֶׁ֣ר יֵאָכֵ֑ל וְשָׁפַךְ֙ אֶת־דָּמ֔וֹ וְכִסָּ֖הוּ בֶּעָפָֽר׃

מלמד שדם הניתז ושעל הסכין חייב לכסות; א"ר יהודה: אימתי? בזמן שאין שם דם אלא הוא, אבל יש שם דם בלא הוא פטור מלכסות.
English: Blood that splatters or remains on the knife must be covered; R. Yehudah: only when that is the sole blood present.
