English: R. Eliezer: from where that one who slaughters an animal to Mercury is liable? From “they shall no longer slaughter their sacrifices to the se’irim” — if it is not needed for ordinary idolatrous slaughter, apply it to unconventional forms.
Unconventional idolatrous slaughter
Slaughter directed to an idol in a non-standard manner is still prohibited under this verse.
