English: “And to the entrance of the Tent of Meeting he did not bring it” — only an animal fit to be brought to the entrance incurs liability for slaughter outside.
Fitness requirement for liability
Animals that could never validly reach the entrance (e.g. certain temporary disqualifications) do not generate the karet of shechutei chutz; the verse then expands with “ox or sheep or goat” to re-include many of them.
