יכול חוץ לשלש מחנות? ת"ל במחנה. אי במחנה יכול השוחט עולה בדרום יהא חייב? ת"ל אל מחוץ למחנה — מה חוץ למחנה מיוחד שאינו ראוי לשחיטת קדשים, יצא דרום שאע"פ שאינו ראוי לקדשי קדשים ראוי לקדשים קלים.
English: The phrase “outside the camp” defines a place unfit for any sacrificial slaughter; the south of the azarah, fit for kodashim kalim, is excluded from liability.
