וְהַֽמְשַׁלֵּ֤חַ אֶת־הַשָּׂעִיר֙ לַֽעֲזָאזֵ֔ל יְכַבֵּ֣ס בְּגָדָ֔יו וְרָחַ֥ץ אֶת־בְּשָׂר֖וֹ בַּמָּ֑יִם וְאַחֲרֵי־כֵ֖ן יָב֥וֹא אֶל־הַֽמַּחֲנֶֽה׃

English: “And the one who sends” — the sender of the goat renders garments tamei, but the one who dispatches the sender does not.

Halachic scope of tumat begadim

Only the person who actually escorts the goat to Azazel contracts the garment-impurity; intermediaries who merely appoint him do not.
