EXTRA 3 on Acharei Mos 16:24

Side-ring EXTRA · Sequence after the white service

Source

After immersion and donning the golden garments, the Kohen Gadol offers his own olah and the people’s olah. Toras Kohanim and Yoma place this stage in the overall order of the day’s five garment-changes.

Core Text — Toras Kohanim / Yoma 32a
וְיָצָא וְעָשָׂה אֶת־עֹלָתוֹ וְאֶת־עֹלַת הָעָם — בְּבִגְדֵי זָהָב, אַחַר טְבִילָה מִן הַלָּבָן.

English: “He shall go out and offer his burnt-offering and the people’s burnt-offering” — in the golden garments, after the immersion that concludes the white service.

Type of Learning

Post-inner-service outer olos

What Is Learned

The personal and communal burnt-offerings of Yom Kippur are performed only after the inner service is complete and the Kohen Gadol has returned to golden garments. The verse marks that transition.
