כְּתֹֽנֶת־בַּ֨ד קֹ֜דֶשׁ יִלְבָּ֗שׁ וּמִֽכְנְסֵי־בַד֮ יִהְי֣וּ עַל־בְּשָׂרוֹ֒ וּבְאַבְנֵ֥ט בַּד֙ יַחְגֹּ֔ר וּבְמִצְנֶ֥פֶת בַּ֖ד יִצְנֹ֑ף בִּגְדֵי־קֹ֣דֶשׁ הֵ֔ם וְרָחַ֥ץ בַּמַּ֛יִם אֶת־בְּשָׂר֖וֹ וּלְבֵשָֽׁם׃

וְלָמָּה בְּבִגְדֵי לָבָן? אָמַר רַבִּי חִיָּא: כִּשְׁירוּת שֶׁל מַעְלָה כָּךְ שֵׁירוּת שֶׁל מַטָּה — מַה לְּמַעְלָה וְאִישׁ אֶחָד לָבוּשׁ בַּדִּים, אַף לְמַטָּה כְּתֹנֶת בַּד קֹדֶשׁ יִלְבָּשׁ.
English: Why in white garments? R’ Chiyya said: As the service above, so the service below — just as above “one man clothed in linens,” so below “a sacred linen tunic shall he wear.”
