וְכִֽי־יִטְהַ֤ר הַזָּב֙ מִזּוֹב֔וֹ וְסָפַר֙ ל֔וֹ שִׁבְעַ֥ת יָמִ֖ים לְטָהֳרָת֑וֹ וְכִבֶּס֙ בְּגָדָ֔יו וְרָחַ֥ץ בְּשָׂר֖וֹ בְּמַ֥יִם חַיִּ֖ים וְטָהֵֽר׃

שִׁבְעַת יָמִים לְטָהֳרָתוֹ — מַהוּ לְטָהֳרָתוֹ? שֶׁתִּהְיֶה טָהֳרָתוֹ אַחַת.

English: “Seven days for his purification” — what is “for his purification”? That his purification be one continuous [period].

Consecutive seven days

Chazal require the seven clean days to be consecutive without interruption by a new flux.
