The Complete Passuk

וְהַנֹּגֵ֖עַ בִּבְשַׂ֣ר הַזָּ֑ב יְכַבֵּ֧ס בְּגָדָ֛יו וְרָחַ֥ץ בַּמַּ֖יִם וְטָמֵ֥א עַד־הָעָֽרֶב׃

בִּבְשַׂר הַזָּב — בִּבְשָׂר, וְלֹא בְּעֶצֶם הַפּוֹרֵשׁ מִמֶּנּוּ וְלֹא בִּבְשָׂר הַפּוֹרֵשׁ מִמֶּנּוּ.

English: “The flesh of the zav” — the flesh, and not a bone that separated from him, and not flesh that separated from him.

Chazal exclude detached bone or flesh of the zav from conveying the same contact impurity as his living body.
