דַּבְּרוּ֙ אֶל־בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וַאֲמַרְתֶּ֖ם אֲלֵהֶ֑ם אִ֣ישׁ אִ֗ישׁ כִּ֤י יִהְיֶה֙ זָ֣ב מִבְּשָׂר֔וֹ זוֹב֖וֹ טָמֵ֥א הֽוּא׃

Core Text

כִּי יִהְיֶה זָב מִבְּשָׂרוֹ — מִבְּשָׂרוֹ וְלֹא מֵחֲמַת אָנְסוֹ.

English: “When he has a discharge from his flesh” — from his flesh, and not as a result of an accident (ones).

Exclusion of accidental discharge

Chazal exclude a discharge caused by external force or accident from the category of zivah.
