Core Text

English: “In his purification” — a metzora who brought his asham and then became rich (or a rich man who became poor): R’ Yehudah says everything follows the asham, as it is written “whose means do not suffice in his purification” — the thing that renders him fit.

What Is Learned

Chazal (according to R’ Yehudah) determine the required offering by the metzora’s financial status at the time the asham is brought, which is the act that begins the final purification.
