וְנָתַ֨ן הַכֹּהֵ֜ן מִן־הַשֶּׁ֣מֶן אֲשֶׁ֣ר עַל־כַּפּ֗וֹ עַל־תְּנ֞וּךְ אֹ֤זֶן הַמִּטַּהֵר֙ הַיְמָנִ֔ית וְעַל־בֹּ֤הֶן יָדוֹ֙ הַיְמָנִ֔ית וְעַל־בֹּ֥הֶן רַגְל֖וֹ הַיְמָנִ֑ית עַל־מְק֖וֹם דַּ֥ם הָאָשָֽׁם׃

עַל מְקוֹם וגו' — עַל דַּם הָאָשָׁם, עַל מְקוֹם דַּם הָאָשָׁם לְמַאי אָתוּ? צְרִיכִי, דְּאִי כְּתַב עַל דַּם הָאָשָׁם הֲוָה אָמֵינָא אִיתֵיהּ אִין, נִתְקַנַּח לֹא; כְּתַב עַל מְקוֹם, וְאִי כְּתַב עַל מְקוֹם הֲוָה אָמֵינָא דַּוְקָא נִתְקַנַּח אֲבָל אִיתֵיהּ אֵימָא הָוֵי חֲצִיצָה, קָא מַשְׁמַע לַן עַל דַּם הָאָשָׁם.
English: “Upon the place …” — both “upon the blood of the asham” and “upon the place of the blood of the asham” are needed so that the placement is valid whether residual blood is still present or has been wiped away.
