EXTRA 1 on Metzora 14:22–27

Side-ring EXTRA · Shared asham rite

Source

Structural parallel already established by Torah Temimah on the rich metzora’s asham (14:14–17 and 14:25–28). Torah Temimah is silent on 14:22–27 because the classical derashos were registered on the parallel rich-person verses.

English: The same placement of asham blood on the right ear-ridge, right thumb, and right big toe applies to the poor metzora as to the rich; only the accompanying animal pair is reduced to birds.

Type of Learning

Equal asham application

What Is Learned

Poverty changes the chatas/olah animals, not the asham’s blood-and-oil placement that marks the return of the senses and limbs to pure service.
