Core Text of Chazal

Core Text

English: “He shall take it” — whence do we know that if the blood is spilled the bird that was to be sent away must be killed, and if the bird that was to be sent away dies the blood must be poured out? From the verse “the live bird he shall take it.”

What Is Learned

Chazal link the fate of the live bird and the blood so that neither can stand alone once the process has begun.
