וְצִוָּה֙ הַכֹּהֵ֔ן וְלָקַ֧ח לַמִּטַּהֵ֛ר שְׁתֵּֽי־צִפֳּרִ֥ים חַיּ֖וֹת טְהֹר֑וֹת וְעֵ֣ץ אֶ֔רֶז וּשְׁנִ֥י תוֹלַ֖עַת וְאֵזֹֽב׃

Core Text

וּשְׁנִי תוֹלַעַת — מַה שְּׁנִי תוֹלַעַת דָּבָר שֶׁיֵּשׁ בּוֹ רוּחַ חַיִּים אַף כָּל דָּבָר שֶׁיֵּשׁ בּוֹ רוּחַ חַיִּים.

English: “And crimson wool” — just as the crimson wool comes from a living creature, so too any dye derived from a living source is included.
