TT #276 · Parshas Tazria · Aliyah 7 · Passuk 51
English: The priest shall examine the lesion on the seventh day; if it has spread in the garment, warp or woof, or leather article, the lesion is malignant tzaraas; it is impure.
Chabad.org — Chumash, English translation + Rashi for Vayikra 13:51
Torah Temimah cites Sifra (Toras Kohanim) for the inclusion of a distant new affected area in the spread rule.
Sifra — Vayikra 13, Midrash Sefer
English: How do we include spread at a distance from the original lesion? The verse says, “in the garment.”
Textual derivation
The garment rule also counts a new affected area that is separated from the original lesion; the spread need not be contiguous.
