Derasha 18 — Vayikra 12:3

Core Text — Yevamos 72b

אֵין לִי אֶלָּא הַנִּמּוֹל לִשְׁמוֹנָה, שֶׁאֵין נִמּוֹל אֶלָּא בַּיּוֹם; מִנַּיִן לְרַבּוֹת הַנִּמּוֹל לְתִשְׁעָה, לַעֲשָׂרָה, לְאַחַד עָשָׂר, לִשְׁנֵים עָשָׂר? תַּלְמוּד לוֹמַר: ״וּבַיּוֹם״.

English: I know only that one circumcised on the eighth day is circumcised only during the day. From where do we include one circumcised on the ninth, tenth, eleventh, or twelfth day? The Torah says, “and on the day.”
