The Complete Passuk

אַל־תְּשַׁקְּצוּ אֶת־נַפְשֹׁתֵיכֶם בְּכָל־הַשֶּׁרֶץ הַשֹּׁרֵץ וְלֹא תִטַּמְּאוּ בָּהֶם וְנִטְמֵתֶם בָּם:

English: “And you shall become impure through them”: one who makes himself impure in this world is caused to become impure in the World to Come.

וְנִטְמֵתֶם בָּם. אָדָם מְטַמֵּא עַצְמוֹ בָּעוֹלָם הַזֶּה מְטַמְּאִין אוֹתוֹ בָּעוֹלָם הַבָּא.

Middah and consequence — The Chazal applies the verse’s wording and structure to establish the stated teaching.

The verse's language is extended to teach that self-defilement in this world carries consequence into the world to come.
