אַךְ מַעְיָן וּבוֹר מִקְוֵה־מַיִם יִהְיֶה טָהוֹר וְנֹגֵעַ בְּנִבְלָתָם יִטְמָא:

English: “It shall be pure”: its preparation and use must be in a state of purity.

יִהְיֶה טָהוֹר. הֱוָיָתָן עַל יְדֵי טָהֳרָה תְּהֵא.

Halachic condition — The Chazal derives the stated rule from the wording and structure of the verse.
