וְזֶה לָכֶם הַטָּמֵא. תַּנָּא דְּבֵי רַבִּי יִשְׁמָעֵאל, סִימָנֵי שְׁרָצִים הָיוּ קָשִׁים לוֹ לְמֹשֶׁה עַד שֶׁהֶרְאָה לוֹ הַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא בְּאֶצְבַּע.
English: “And this is what is impure for you.” The school of Rabbi Yishmael taught: the identifying signs of the creeping creatures were difficult for Moshe until the Holy One, blessed be He, showed them to him with His finger.
