Core Text of Chazal

Core Text

English: “Raven” identifies the raven; “every raven” includes additional raven species, and the repeated “according to its kind” includes related birds.

Type of Learning

Textual inclusion — The source interprets the verse through its wording and context.

What Is Learned

Sifra reads the repeated “after its kind” language as an expansion: beyond the named raven, it includes additional raven types, the starling, and the swallow.
