Core Text

English: The commentary explains that Moses called the relatives who loved Aaron and would genuinely share his grief.

Type of Learning

Character and consolation — The source interprets the verse through its wording and context.

What Is Learned

The Netziv explains why Moses specifically chose Mishael and Elzaphan: he knew they were genuinely close to Aaron and would share his pain rather than appear to rejoice in his misfortune.
