וְאֵת בִּגְדֵי הַשְּׂרָד לֹא יָדַעְתִּי לָמָּה לֹא צִוָּה תְּחִלָּה לַעֲשׂוֹת הַבְּגָדִים הָאֵלֶּה, כַּאֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה בְּכָל מְלֶאכֶת הַמִּשְׁכָּן וּבְבִגְדֵי אַהֲרֹן וּבָנָיו, כִּי הָיָה רָאוּי שֶׁיֹּאמַר לוֹ וְעָשִׂיתָ בֶּגֶד כְּלִיל תְּכֵלֶת לְכַסּוֹת בּוֹ הָאָרוֹן וּבֶגֶד אַרְגָּמָן לְכַסּוֹת בּוֹ הַמִּזְבֵּחַ וּבֶגֶד תּוֹלַעַת שָׁנִי לְכַסּוֹת בּוֹ הַשֻּׁלְחָן, וְעַתָּה כַּאֲשֶׁר יְצַוֶּה אֶת הָעוֹשִׂים יִכְלֹל אוֹתָם עִם שְׁאָר הַמְּלָאכָה. וְאוּלַי לֹא הָיְתָה בָּהֶם קְפֵידָא וְיַעֲשׂוּ אוֹתָם כִּרְצוֹנָם בִּגְדֵי שְׂרָד מִמִּין אֶחָד לְבַדּוֹ, וְהֵם עָשׂוּ מִן הַתְּכֵלֶת וְהָאַרְגָּמָן וְתוֹלַעַת הַשָּׁנִי. וְלֹא רָצוּ בַּשֵּׁשׁ כִּי אֵינֶנּוּ נִכְבָּד כְּמוֹתָם. וְאַחֲרֵי שֶׁנַּעֲשׂוּ כֵן רָצָה הַשֵּׁם שֶׁיִּהְיֶה הַתְּכֵלֶת לָאָרוֹן, וְהָאַרְגָּמָן לַמִּזְבֵּחַ, וְהַשָּׁנִי לַשֻּׁלְחָן (במדבר ד, ו-יג), וְלָכֵן הִסְפִּיק לָהֶם הַצַּוָּאָה בִּקְצָרָה כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוָּה עַל הָעוֹשִׂים, כִּי לְדַעְתָּם יַעֲשׂוּ בִּגְדֵי הַשְּׂרָד: וְאֵינֶנּוּ הָגוּן שֶׁיִּהְיֶה בֶּגֶד הַמְּכַסֶּה עָ
