English: AND THOU SHALT GIRD THEM WITH GIRDLES. Girdles takes in Aharon’s girdle and the girdle of his sons. 40 The term refers both to Aharon’s girdle and to that of his sons because they all wore the same type of girdle (Krinsky). Sarim is of the opinion that Aharon’s girdle differed from the girdle of his sons. According to Sarim, I.E. is explaining that the term girdles refers both to Aharon’s girdle and to the girdle of his sons even though their girdles differed. Similarly the breeches. 41 Moshe similarly placed breeches upon Aharon and his sons even though Scripture omits mentioning this.
