English: The Gemara, in the name of Rabbi Shimon, describes miracles surrounding Israel’s entry into the land: after crossing the Jordan they traveled to Mount Gerizim and Mount Eival, and fear struck the peoples before them. The two occurrences of “until Your people pass over” are understood as the first and second entries.

On the daf / in context: See the cited source for the full section.

Type of Learning

Derash on the verse.

What Is Learned

The cited Sotah passage connects the two entries into the land with the miraculous fear experienced by the surrounding peoples; the exact subdivision of this repeated source between TT notes 12 and 13 remains to be verified.
