וְאֶת הַמִּשְׁכָּן תַּעֲשֶׂה עֶשֶׂר יְרִיעוֹת. רָמַז בָּזֶה כְּנֶגֶד עֲשָׂרָה מַאֲמָרוֹת שֶׁבָּהֶם נִבְרָא הָעוֹלָם, לוֹמַר שֶׁשָּׁקוּל הַמִּשְׁכָּן כְּכָל הָעוֹלָם כֻּלּוֹ שֶׁנִּבְרָא בַּעֲשָׂרָה מַאֲמָרוֹת, גַּם זְכוּת לְיִשְׂרָאֵל בּוֹ כְּאִלּוּ קִיְּמוּ הָעֲשָׂרָה מַאֲמָרוֹת שֶׁבָּהֶם נִבְרָא הָעוֹלָם. עוֹד נִתְכַּוֵּן בְּסֵדֶר מִצְוָה זוֹ שֶׁל יְרִיעוֹת שֵׁשׁ וְשֶׁל יְרִיעוֹת עִזִּים, שֶׁבְּשֶׁל שֵׁשׁ צִוָּה עֲשָׂרָה וְשֶׁל עִזִּים צִוָּה עַשְׁתֵּי עָשָׂר. עוֹד צִוָּה שֶׁיְּחַבֵּר חָמֵשׁ יְרִיעוֹת לְבַד וְחָמֵשׁ יְרִיעוֹת לְבַד, וְכֵן בְּשֶׁל עִזִּים צִוָּה לְחַבֵּר שֵׁשׁ לְבַד. טַעַם הַדָּבָר הוּא כִּי רָשַׁם ה׳ שְׁמוֹ הַנִּכְבָּד בַּיְרִיעוֹת, וְצִוָּה כִּי כֻלָּן יִהְיוּ רָחְבָּן אַרְבַּע בֵּין שֶׁל שֵׁשׁ בֵּין שֶׁל עִזִּים כְּנֶגֶד אַרְבַּע אוֹתִיּוֹת שֶׁל שֵׁם הוי״ה. וְכֵן תִּמְצָא שֶׁרָמְזוּ רִאשׁוֹנִים בְּמַאֲמָרָם הַזַּךְ (שבת ו,א) רְשׁוּת הַיָּחִיד רָחְבּוֹ אַרְבָּעָה וְגָבְהוֹ עֲשָׂרָה, שֶׁהוּא עַל שֵׁם הוי״ה, רָחְבּוֹ אַרְבָּעָה וְגָבְהוֹ פֵּרוּשׁ בְּמִלּוּי עֲשָׂרָה עַל זֶה הַדֶּרֶךְ יו״ד ה״י וא״ו ה״י. וְקִדֵּשׁ הַפְּנִימִי לִהְיוֹתוֹ קָרוֹב לַמָּקוֹם הַמְּקֻדָּשׁ וְ

English: ואת המשכן תעשה עשר יריעות , "And you shall construct the Tabernacle out of ten strips of cloth, etc. This number is an allusion to the ten directives G'd used when creating the universe. The Torah wants to tell us that construction of the Tabernacle was as important to G'd as creation of the universe itself. Constructing the Tabernacle would also confer as much merit on the Israelites as if they had personally brought about the creation of the universe which was created by means of ten directives. There are still other considerations behind the requirement to use such materials as twisted linen of specific colours, goats' hair, etc. It is not accidental that G'd commanded ten strips of cloth to be made of linen whereas He commanded eleven strips of cloth made of goats' hair (verse 7) to be
