וְעָשִׂ֥יתָ מְנֹרַ֖ת זָהָ֣ב טָה֑וֹר מִקְשָׁ֞ה תֵּעָשֶׂ֤ה הַמְּנוֹרָה֙ יְרֵכָ֣הּ וְקָנָ֔הּ גְּבִיעֶ֛יהָ כַּפְתֹּרֶ֥יהָ וּפְרָחֶ֖יהָ מִמֶּ֥נָּה יִהְיֽוּ׃

Core Text — Menachos 28a

תָּנוּ רַבָּנַן: מְנוֹרָה הָיְתָה בָּאָה מִן הָעֶשֶׁת וּמִן הַזָּהָב. עֲשָׂאָהּ מִן הַגְּרוּטָאוֹת — פְּסוּלָה, דִּכְתִיב ״מִקְשָׁה״. עֲשָׂאָהּ מִשְּׁאָר מִינֵי מַתָּכוֹת — כְּשֵׁרָה, דִּכְתִיב ״תֵּיעָשֶׂה״ — לְרַבּוֹת שְׁאָר מִינֵי מַתָּכוֹת.

English: The Menorah was to be made from a single piece of metal or from gold. If made from scraps it is invalid because of “mikshah”; other metals are valid by the inclusive wording “shall be made.”
