וַיִּקַּח֙ סֵ֣פֶר הַבְּרִ֔ית וַיִּקְרָ֖א בְּאׇזְנֵ֣י הָעָ֑ם וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ כֹּ֛ל אֲשֶׁר־דִּבֶּ֥ר יְהֹוָ֖ה נַעֲשֶׂ֥ה וְנִשְׁמָֽע׃

Core Text — Shabbos 88a

דָּרַשׁ רַבִּי סִימַאי: בְּשָׁעָה שֶׁהִקְדִּימוּ יִשְׂרָאֵל נַעֲשֶׂה לְנִשְׁמָע, בָּאוּ שִׁשִּׁים רִבּוֹא שֶׁל מַלְאֲכֵי הַשָּׁרֵת וְקָשְׁרוּ לְכָל אֶחָד וְאֶחָד מִיִּשְׂרָאֵל שְׁנֵי כְתָרִים, אֶחָד כְּנֶגֶד נַעֲשֶׂה וְאֶחָד כְּנֶגֶד נִשְׁמָע.

English: Rabbi Simai taught: When Israel said “we will do” before “we will hear,” six hundred thousand ministering angels came and tied two crowns on each Israelite, one corresponding to “we will do” and one to “we will hear.”
