תַּנְיָא, רַבִּי אוֹמֵר: וְשֵׁם אֱלֹהִים אֲחֵרִים לֹא תַזְכִּירוּ — לִשְׁבָח אִי אַתָּה מַזְכִּיר, אֲבָל אַתָּה מַזְכִּיר לִגְנַאי, שֶׁנֶּאֱמַר שַׁקֵּץ תְּשַׁקְּצֶנּוּ.
English: Rabbi taught: You may not mention the name of other gods for praise, but you may mention it for denigration, as it says, “You shall utterly detest them.”
