תָּנֵי, בֵּית הִלֵּל אוֹמְרִים: מַה תַּלְמוּד לוֹמַר וּנְטַשְׁתָּהּ? לוֹמַר לְךָ, יֵשׁ לְךָ נְטִישָׁה אַחֶרֶת שֶׁהִיא כָּזוֹ; מַה זוֹ בֵּין לַעֲנִיִּים בֵּין לָעֲשִׁירִים, אַף כָּל נְטִישָׁה שֶׁל הֶפְקֵר אֵינָהּ אֶלָּא בֵּין לַעֲנִיִּים בֵּין לָעֲשִׁירִים.
English: Beis Hillel taught: Why does the verse add “you shall leave it”? Just as this leaving applies to poor and rich alike, every declaration of hefker must likewise apply to poor and rich alike.
